Thanksgiving

People in America celebrate Thanksgiving today. We don't. But still, that made me think about the things I'm thankful for...

I'm thankful for the privilege to be mother of the best child in the whole wild world.
I'm thankful for my wonderful family.
I'm thankful my Dad is doing much better.
I'm thankful for all my friends, specially those who like me the way I am and don't want me to change.
I'm thankful for all the free time I've been given to do things I like to do and also for the skill to do these things.
I'm thankful for a good job, which enables me a good living without special worries.
I'm thankful for most wonderful co-workers who make me laugh daily.
I'm thankful for the first snow this season... but mostly because it's not snowing any more.
I'm thankful for the Sainfeld and Only Fools And Horses series late at night - they help me fall asleep.
I'm thankful for a nice man out there who makes me feel special.
I'm thankful for my car's heating in these cold days. And for the scarf and warm gloves my grandmother made for me last year.
I'm thankful for Uhu super power gel glue, which doesn't stick to my fingers.
I'm thankful for the Internet - do I have to tell why?
I'm thankful for the sun above and moon and stars, for the wind and rain, rainbows and snow... for every little miracle of the nature.
I'm thankful for every day I go through, even if it is a bad one.
...
I'm thankful for the fact that I don't have to write everything I'm thankful for. This writing was not a good idea at all... there are too many things I could and should put on the list... perhaps I'll go on, but not today. That should be enough. Good night!

A very nice post. Most of us do have so much to be thankful for!

Super glue gel doesn't stick to your fingers? Really? I am forever having "accidents" with super glue causing my fingers to stick together!

omg, I really have to try and stop myself from being cynical again... argh! I can't! Thanksgiving as a holiday is a joke! You don't show your gratefulness by slaughtering the nation that saved your arse from starvation! And that's what the americans did. Now they're quick to put indians on coins, statues etc. But every day the indian nation is sinking deeper in the american cauldron. The once proud nation is now just a shadow of its former self. Oh the irony...

Thanks Jilly, wishing you a happy day as well!

Karen, thanks. LOL... super glue gel can stick your fingers together if you're not careful, of course... but as it is not liquid, you don't have it all over your hands as soon as you open it :).

Mayhem.... I'm thankful you're my friend!!! :))
Though it seems you keep missing the point of my posts :)). Is there someting wrong with my writing (ok, grammar and spelling mistakes don't count!) or with your perception? I don't care if thanksgiving as a holiday in America is a joke or really serious thing - they celebrated it, I didn't. My post has nothing to do with holidays, turkeys, Americans or Indians... just with the simple word - thanksgiving -> thankful. See why I think your cynicism at this point is not a cynicism at all? Maybe you're even right... but as I said, I don't really care :).

Hmmm... perhaps you should use this as a topic for the next post in your blog :))!
