Quilling

Until two days ago I have never heard of quilling. I don't even remember seeing anything like that before. Then I heard about it from my fellow craft girls and since I didn't want to be completely ignorant I surfed the web to find some pics and possibly some instructions. I didn't find much, but just enough to get general idea about what quilling is and how to do it.

This was my first try and I am quite pleased with it. If by any chance someone who knows about quilling reads this post, I have a question: When you glue pieces together, how do you glue the composition to surface? Do you glue complete surface and put it on or put glue just on paper parts? Maybe with some more practice and different glues I will find that out by myself, but asking doesn't hurt, does it? :)

Hi, I think your quilling would make wonderful cards for special people in your life.

You apply the glue to the back of the piece before setting it in place. Spread a thin layer of glue onto a piece of wax paper and using tweezers just touch the edges on the glue, lift it and place onto a card.

You have done a wondeful job! I have only made snowflakes and xmas decorations, I do not know how to blog or have a page but feel free to email me anytime. I find this type of work soothing to the soul as I am a shut in. Ialso make paper and cards and am planning an xmas ornament to go in each grandchilds card this year. I will upload pictures when some are finished, but would welome any comments or help in advance. I have pasted pressed flowers to homemade paper cards and had good results but am looking foward to finding ways to add the quilling as a part of the card yet removable for tree decorations
